i just found out that i am the luckiest person in the world. i watched a four car accident take place and i/my car walked away undamaged. it was insane. i was on the cape cod canal, where there's no barrier between the two sides of the highway. here's what happened: this white car on the other side of the highway majorly swerved out of nowhere, hitting another car and causing it to roll over towards the canal. meanwhile, the impact of that collision sent the white car flying into my side of the highway, hitting the car behind me and the car next to me before finally crashing into trees. of those two cars, one was spun towards the canal and the other hit the trees too. and i kept driving, dialing 911 for legitly the 7th time this summer (the first 6 times were all at the hotel; i swear people try to make fire in their rooms.)
sounds crazy, right? when i told alan how it was like i saw every little detail in slow motion, he said i really should have pulled over since i was a witness. NO WAY, i completely disagree. after jury duty this summer, i have no desire to EVER be in a trial again, and the case obviously would go to trial b/c everyone is gonna sue mr. white car. so, like i said, luckiest person in the world right here.
the weirdest thing was that in the minutes before the collision, i did about 10 things different than usual. instead of changing lanes compulsively, i slowed down. instead of drinking tea, i had two hands on the wheel. i was the car in front of the accident, so i avoided the aftermath of the disaster. good lord, i should probably do a few good deeds tomorrow just to make sure im still in good standing with grace...
